[blog update]: Wordpress 2.8.1

อัพเดตกันแทบไม่ทันอีกแล้ว
สำหรับ wordpress เวอร์ชันใหม่
คราวนี้เป็นเวอร์ชันเต็มแล้ว
ก็เลยต้องรีบอัพเดต blog engine ให้เรียบร้อย
อย่างน้อยก็จะได้ป้องกัน bugs ที่อาจจะพบเจอได้

สิ่งที่ได้รับการแก้ไขแล้วโดนใจที่สุด ก็คงจะเป็นข้อนี้

Dashboard memory usage is reduced. 
Some people were running out of memory when loading the dashboard,
resulting in an incomplete page.

[blog update]: wordpress 2.8.1 RC1

หลังจากอัพเดต blog engine ไปเป็น
wordpress 2.8.1 beta 2
เพียงแค่ 10 วัน
wordpress 2.8.1 RC 1
ก็ออกมาให้ได้อัพเดตกัน
ซึ่งแมวดื้อก็ทำการอัพเดตเรียบร้อย
ทำงานได้เรียบร้อยดี ยังไม่พบ bug ที่เป็นปัญหา

นอกจากนี้ยังได้ลองอัพเดต BBPress เวอร์ชัน 1.0 (final)
ก็พบว่าทำงานร่วมกันได้อย่างดี ไม่มีปัญหาอะไร

ซึ่งยังไม่ทันจะได้ทดสอบ ลองใช้งานอะไร
ก็มีการพูดคุยกันถึง wordpress เวอร์ชัน 2.9 กันแล้ว

ใครสนใจก็ลองเข้าไปอ่าน ไปโหวตกันได้

Update blog engine again

Notable fixes in beta 2:

  • Translation of role names fixed
  • wp_page_menu() defaults to sorting by the user specified menu order rather than the page title
  • Upload error messages are now correctly reported
  • Autosave error experienced by some IE users is fixed
  • Styling glitch in the plugin editor fixed
  • SSH2 filesystem requirements updated
  • Switched back to curl as the default transport
  • Updated the translation library to avoid a problem with mbstring.func_overload

Update blog engine again

Here are some of the notable issues that are fixed in beta 1.

  • Certain themes were calling get_categories() in such a way that it would fail in 2.8. 2.8.1 works around this so these themes won’t have to change.
  • Dashboard memory usage is reduced. Some people were running out of memory when loading the dashboard, resulting in an incomplete page.
  • The automatic upgrade no longer accidentally deletes files when cleaning up from a failed upgrade.
  • A problem where the rich text editor wasn’t being loaded due to compression issues has been worked around.
  • Extra security has been put in place to better protect you from plugins that do not do explicit permission checks
